Mera Peak, a 6476 m high trekking peak, is not only one of the most popular peak climbing activities but also the highest trekking mountain in Nepal. It lies in the Mt. Everest Zone in the Sankhuwasabha District. It's a breathtaking, exciting, refreshing, and panoramic view experience. This 15-day trek will be a trip and a memory for a lifetime to cherish.
Both Mount Mera and Everest Base Camp treks start at the same point - Lukla (the gateway to Everest Base Camp)- but the two routes are different. You will pass through dense green forests, rivers, and beautiful waterfalls on the way, as well as uphills, downhills, and steep slopes. Various remote villages such as Lukla, Paiya, Panggom, Ningsow, Kothe, Tangnag, Chhatra Khola, and Khare are scattered along the trekking trails that can be visited. You will get to explore the Sherpa culture and their lifestyle. The trek's highest point offers a 360-degree panoramic view of mountains like Mount Everest, Lhotse, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, and plenty of other peaks.
-To make a trek worthwhile, it is very important to choose the appropriate season.. The same goes for the Mera Peak trek, and therefore, a trekker will have to think ahead. The most applicable seasons to carry out the trek are the Spring Season from March to May and the Autumn season that falls in September to November. In both seasons, the weather is appropriate so that you can enjoy every moment. The Spring Season brings a clear sky, which is beneficial as the surrounding areas can be enjoyed with no distractions and more visibility. You will be mesmerized by beautiful rhododendron flowers, and multicolored dense forests are such a beautiful sight while the sky is clear, and you get to see magnificent views of different mountain peaks.
The skies are clear for viewing breathtaking scenes of the mountains, making an appropriate season for trekking, and dense forests with lush greenery after the monsoon rain, which adds more beauty across the trails during the autumn season. The monsoon season and winter season are considered to be less appropriate periods for the trek. Since, trails are more slippery, and there is a high chance of landslides and floods that make the season unsafe and uncomfortable for the trekkers. Talking about the winter season, it is not suitable for the trek because most of the trekking routes are covered with thick snow, the temperature is lower, and there is a high chance of heavy snowfall, which results in slippery streams.
