Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world, stands at 8,848.86 meters (29,031.7 feet) above sea level. It is part of the Himalayan range and lies on the border between Nepal and Tibet (China). In Nepal, it is called Sagarmatha, while in Tibet, it is known as Chomolungma.
